Unormal SOAP response

 SOAP response status code was 200, but response body was empty.

This is not normal because the SOAP protocol always has a response body of type XML.


We solved the issue by increasing the heap memory with 1GB and disabled some non-critical functionality which was resulting in some extra application computation.

 

Although we couldn't understand root cause of the problem, we were happy for now, that it started to work.



In the background:

I was deep into an issue trying to make an destkop app running with Java 17, started over the web, using OpenWebStart. A large part of the app was obfuscated.

I was invited as a speaker to the company All Hands Meeting to talk about a recent patent application and to inspire colleagues to submit patents aswell.

In the middle of the AHM, I went to pickup a kid from the kinder garden, staying in the meeting connected via the phone.

Very hot in the apartment.


Thoughts:

Frustration was high. Stress levels are also high. But I become quite tolerant to these high stress levels.
